Fried Cabbage with Shrimp, Sausage, and Bacon: A Hearty and Flavorful Dish

This dish is a delicious and satisfying meal that’s perfect for a weeknight dinner. The combination of crispy bacon, savory sausage, and tender shrimp paired with the sweet and tangy cabbage makes for a truly satisfying experience.

Ingredients:

  • 5 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup yellow onions, chopped
  • 3 cups cabbage, cut in thin strips
  • 10-12 shrimp, tail off & deveined
  • 1 link of kielbasa or smoked sausage, cut 1/2 in  
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Cook the bacon: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove the bacon and set aside on a paper towel-lined plate.
  2. Sauté the vegetables: In the same skillet, add the onions and cook until softened. Add the cabbage and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until slightly wilted.
  3. Add the protein: Add the shrimp, sausage, and cooked bacon back to the skillet. Cook for a few minutes, or until the shrimp are cooked through and the sausage is heated through.
  4. Season and serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately, hot and crispy.
