Instructions:
- Prepare the Gelatin:
- Place the gelatin sheets in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Melt the Chocolate:
- Break the chocolate into small pieces and place them in a heatproof bowl.
- Heat the bowl in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until the chocolate is completely melted. Alternatively, you can melt the chocolate using a double boiler.
- Combine Cream and Milk:
- In a bowl, mix together the cream, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the Gelatin:
- Remove the gelatin sheets from the water and squeeze out the excess moisture. Place the gelatin in a small heatproof bowl and heat in the microwave for a few seconds until fully dissolved.
- Pour the melted gelatin into the cream and milk mixture and stir well until fully incorporated.
- Incorporate the Chocolate:
- Add the melted chocolate to the cream and milk mixture and stir until well combined and smooth.
- Pour into Molds:
- Divide the mixture evenly among small ramekins or jars.
- Cover the ramekins with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, until the panna cotta is set.
- Serve:
- Remove the panna cotta from the refrigerator, take off the plastic wrap, and gently invert it onto dessert plates or serve directly in the jars.
- You can garnish the panna cotta with fresh berries, grated chocolate, or a dusting of cocoa powder if desired.
