A Hearty and Colorful Vegetarian Spaghetti

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound (454 grams) hot Italian sausage, uncooked
  • 1 (8-ounce) package (226 grams) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (10-ounce) can (283 grams) Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained
  • 1/4 cup (42 grams) finely grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the sausage: In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
  3. Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, Rotel tomatoes, Parmesan cheese (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Shape into balls: Using a tablespoon, scoop out the sausage mixture and roll it into small balls, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter.
  5. Bake: Place the sausage balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  6. Serve: Let the sausage balls cool slightly before serving. They can be served warm or cold.

Enjoy!
