Ingredients:
- 1 pound (454 grams) hot Italian sausage, uncooked
- 1 (8-ounce) package (226 grams) cream cheese, softened
- 1 (10-ounce) can (283 grams) Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies, drained
- 1/4 cup (42 grams) finely grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the sausage: In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat until browned and cooked through. Break it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
- Combine ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the cooked sausage, cream cheese, Rotel tomatoes, Parmesan cheese (if using), garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.
- Shape into balls: Using a tablespoon, scoop out the sausage mixture and roll it into small balls, about 1 inch (2.5 cm) in diameter.
- Bake: Place the sausage balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
- Serve: Let the sausage balls cool slightly before serving. They can be served warm or cold.
Enjoy!
